Amer Kajmakovic, researcher of area 4.1 – Cognitive Products – presented his work at the Tenth International Conference on Performance, Safety and Robustness in Complex Systems and Applications PESARO 2020 organized by IARIA (International Academy, Research, and Industry Association). PESARO 2020 was collocated within NexComm 2020 Congress and was held in Lisbon, Portugal in February. Contribution, titled “Challenges in Mitigating Soft Errors in Safety-critical Systems with COTS Microprocessors”, identifies challenges associated with software-based soft error detection and correction strategies in the context of safety-critical embedded systems. Along with the challenges, a short overview of currently applicable software-based mitigation strategies is given and the strategies are evaluated.
