The project “Adaptive Smart Production 2” was launched in July 2020. Over a period of 3 years the interdisciplinary cooperation of Area 3 (Cognitive Decision Making) and Area 4.2 (Cognitive Production Systems) together with the Institute of Production Engineering and the Institute of Machine Components (both TU Graz) will research on the topics fuel cell assembly and high-speed bearing testbed systems.
For the industrial partner AVL List GmbH, the above-mentioned topics are of strategic importance for future mobility and will thus be investigated in detail in this project. The research on fuel cell assembly will focus on the agility of assembly processes for both battery and fuel cell powered powertrains whereas the research on high-speed bearing testbed targets the suitability of bearings, bearing systems and test rigs for high-speed powertrain applications.
